Why??

Classic album but as for Gary Borelow, I wish he was not here ;)

Ruined

I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago, and haven't recovered yet. Don't get me wrong, I think Gary Barlow's a great songwriter and a decent singer, but, come on now, if its not broke, don't fix it.

I heard it the other day and actually thought it was "presentable".
(I'm not a fan of Gary Barlow by any means)

It'll never replace the Justin Hayward version though

And on the off chance that someone hasn't heard the original classic

I agree totally, for something like this to work the original has to have been pap and the new version so far above it in terms of quality that it stands on it's own. Not the case here by a long shot.

I dislike Gary Barlow so wasn't looking forward to this, but to be honest, it ain't that bad. Roll on December.

It's introducing a classic album to a younger audience, it can only be a good thing for the original WOTW

Hopefully the younger generation will seek to hear the original version as a result of what Gary Barlow has done.....somehow doubt many will though.

Sacrilege.

My two sons, now 21 and 15 have loved WOTW for years. We went to see the live show at Wembley Arena a couple of years ago, it was brilliant, even with Chris Thompson and Justin Hayward being the only original singers, really looking forward to seeing the updated version in December.

Probably a bit hard to get the original narrator to reprise his role!

They dug Burton up?

had never heard the original, thought gary's was better but I think they are both really naff to be honest.

Even though its not Christmas ill throw a Baahh Humbug in, you miserable gits :D
