Went for a job interview this morning and was told that they would let me know today but it's now 6:50pm and nowt! I'm going to have to wait till Monday now :(

Job was working for the National Trust in an amazing location.

I'll keep you posted! I'll have my fingers crossed!!:D

Thanks

What i keep thinking is that they have offered it to someone else who they can't get hold of. Hey ho.

Normal procedure is to tell everyone who hasn't got it first, so that the person who has can't spill the beans first and cause an issue. So no news is good news.

But don't quote me....good luck!

Fingers crossed for you.

IME the opposite is actually true.
Most companies make the offer to the successful candidate first - on the premise that if they decline, they have a second person waiting in the pipeline (who they haven't pee'd off yet by telling them that they didn't get the job)

Don't read anything into that though Andy.
The fact is that you don't know anything yet and there's no point in speculating. There are countless reasons why they might not have called you.
Despite promising you a call yesterday, there are lots of things that could have prevented that happening . . .

Something urgent might have come up that took precedence over ringing interview candidates . . .
It might be a very close call between you and another applicant and they want the weekend to consider it . . .
If they have a very bureaucratic HR process the decision might be tied up in red tape somewhere (and I talk from experience from both sides on this) . . .

Try not to dwell on it over the weekend - get out and enjoy yourself.
It sounds a great job though, so fingers crossed for you and let us know on Monday.

Awww thanks :) That's made me feel much better! I'm going to a 40th party tonight and i'm going to let my hair down now :D

Have a great weekend yourself.

Good point, my experience is with internal candidates, so you kwo they will say yes if offered.

I've been discussing an new opportunity for abuot 18 months, so I guess waiting for the weekend won't kill you!!!

Good luck...

Our company tells the successfull applicant first and then the unsuccessfull ones after

Good luck, hope you get it :)

It's now Monday 11.45 and still nowt. I'm guessing it's a no so have stopped worrying about it so if they say yes then it will be more of a suprise!!

bad luck with the interview, reminds me of the last job i had. after two weeks of no notification i phoned up to ask, and found that i had got the job and both the interviewers thought the other had contacted me!

lol, last job interview i went to was an inside job, worked my arse off planning my lesson etc and seemingly impressed at the interview but had no chance of getting the job anyway!, useful experience and i got good feedback so wasnt a complete waste!
