Why withold Exif info!

I host mine on Zenfolio and it seems that the exif data in still intact

I also save the full sized image to HDD but how does re-sizing that to 800x600 obtain the acceptable file size?
A full sized image reduced to 800x600 can still produce an image of several meg, whereas the forum requires not more than 200Kb.

Don't know where you are getting several Mb from. This image is 750x500 and is only 188kb. It all comes down to the compression setting you use when saving, but even at minimum compression my file sizes are still in kb rather than Mb.

I am going to go against the flow here.

I remove my EXIF data from my digital images (my film ones would just say Microtek or Coolscan) because I just don't see why people are so interest in it

Why do you want to know about someone else settings?

At the end of the day an image should be how YOU want it to be and HOW you setup your camera. If you have issues with setting the machine up then there are plenty of hints and tips on the web for the vast majority of cameras for people to learn.

As digital is "cheap and throw away" why shoot loads not learn from what you have shot, try different setting on your camera till you have something you like?.

Personally I find EXIF data dull and learn very little if anything from it. It is not to hard to work out what kind of aperture or shutter speed has been used to get most shots. The tricky bit comes when using studio set ups and i am not sure how relevant EXIF data would be in that case
