Why we chose our username.

Mine comes from a rocky headland called Cloddgy Point where i live...actually spelt Cloddgy, with 2 Ds..but i misspelt it so many times, decided to leave it as it was.

I've been called mole or moley for years (since primary school actually, nobody really knows why) and the nickname stuck, I called myself moleman for years as a sort of hans moleman tribute (im short and have glasses :P) but upon signing up for a forum there already was a mole, moley and moleman so with my genuis intellect I did the cool then back then of adding '2k' to the end of my nickname :P

Been using FooFanDan for years - it comes from my love of the band Foo Fighters and my name being Danny - simple, but clever.

And it's always available when i need to enter a username online.

Geordi because I'm from that neck o' woods and well what else can you say about 69!!! :naughty:

Plus Geordie always seemed to be taken on other forums etc.

Weird story behind mine, I have this Mother, who after I was born decided to call me 'Emma' , oddly enough, the name sort of stuck, and I have used it ever since.

eeeerr you dont have to be mystic meg to work mine out, when i first joined I thought about changing it but it's what me birth cert says so its stayin...

Mine is from the name of the village I live in here in Turkey. It is actually spelled Çukurbağlı which is pronounced as per username and means someone who lives in Cukurbag. Simple, boring, and I'll probably change it sooner or later.

I have a wandering mind :) I daydream a lot. I'm also interested in personality theory, Myers-Briggs, Carl Jung and score as an INFP - healer/idealist on mbti tests.

I also love just wandering around places, going for long walks up the woods etc... Quite often I will visit somewhere and not take a single photo for hours, just wander around, enjoy it and then start :)

I figured it wasn't worth posting in this thread...but then I got a PM today which concluded with this question.

".....So what sort of camera gear have you got? Canon / Nikon camp? I've got a Canon 350D, which I haven't been using as much lately......"

I like to be a bit mysterious so I'll leave you all pondering.

Brilliant post Emma (if I can call you that ;)) You'll do well around here with that sense of humour

Welcome to TP :)

Nice one Emma! :welcome:

As my name's Ken, some of the guys I used to work with renamed me Kendo Nagasaki (after the masked wrestler from the 70's). Kendo seems to have stuck.

AcidFetishToy.
Because i stole it from song lyrics :) haha how un creative of me :p
but it sounds damn cool!

About 8 years ago (when I was a CG artist in the games industry) I was registering a domain name. I wanted something related to pixels and as short as possible (cos I'm a a lazy so and so) and pxl8 was the shortest one available, it's a l33t (groan) abbr. of pixelate but often mis-read as pxI8 or px18.

the pooch to the left is called donut , and as i use it on another forum ( apug .org go there or be digital ) i thought id be donutagain on this one .....

named after a previous unsubtle hairdo. and my sense of humour.

mines also song lyrics...

ginblossoms song called "whitewash" seemed to be a nice arsty term so i nicked it for my website address and usernames etc. nice dirtyish rock song as well

I like maps, I can sit and read a map like most people read books. :cuckoo: In early chat rooms and forums I used the name 'Navigator' but that started to get very popular, so I decided to use the name of the greatest navigator of all, Ferdinand Magellan 1480-1521.

My Name is Darryn... therefore my username is Darryn.

There is slightly more to it than that though... I used to be DreederUK (Darryn Reeder from the UK)

But when TP started to grow fast I asked for it to be changed... The main reason was that my spelling of Darryn is quite rare and the only other person I know of who is spelt the same way is slightly into Photography, so i wanted to ensure i got the username before he did, on the off chance he registered, as id get confused.

Mine is easy now, just my name.

It used to be Darksaber, which was and still is my gaming alias (I use d4rksaber for Xbox live as someone else decided they were called Darksaber too :( ). I changed it because it felt silly going on meets saying "Hi, I'm darksaber!".

The history behind that - its the title of a Star Wars EU novel, I won't bore you with the details ;)
