Irrespective of what happened in the club why was a professional footballer in a night club at that time of the morning during what is recognized as the busiest part of the season, and with a wife like that I would rather be tucked up in bed

Possibly celebrating being top off the league / winning 5-1 and no match for a week ?

why?

Even Man U players go out and celebrate, as i'd imagine would any other player(s) had they had a great win, hell, even if they hadn't, they are entitled to a bit of a social life.

Well he made me a few quid :)

Accy stanley player arrested wiht him... I got a pic to local paper of our player arrested and.... in an accy shirt playing against liverpool... RESULT ...

gerrard is a ******* so I am glad..

Well Gerrard has an excuse to be celebrating. What on earth was an Accy player doing celebrating with him? ;):D

won 3-1 our first win in yonks... gerrard comes to accy now and then.. one of our keepers is his golf partner... other players know him... usually at least 9 of our players are scousers on the pitch.. manager and assistant manager are as well

It was a little tongue in cheek to be honest. Thought he might have been celebrating getting three points closer to us ;)

steve gerrard gerrard hes big and hes ****ing hard...... hes our savior :D and i would have celebrated had i not been in pain lol

TBH, Gerrard doesn't play by the rules, I know a girl that was regularly chatted up at house parties by him. He's a naughty chap!

well if you had his money wouldnt u? i mean c'mon lol if u had the pick of any pretty girl.....

having fun

See no reason why he couldnt be out celebrating, providing he was obeying the laws of the country, just like any-one else.

yep and after the performance against the geordies, i think he deserved it - to party and relax and enjoy himself i mean

He's just out and about! Bit of a plank for hitting out though! :nono:

What drives me mad is that his club is supporting him and now it has been announced England will not put this against him in future selections.

ARE THEY PROMOTING VIOLENCE?

People get killed in "pub brawls" - its ridiculas

Innocent until proven guilty + an allowance for ********s that like to taunt footballers into hitting out in the hope of making a few quid but if he's guilty of assault he should be punished, people lose their jobs for violent criminal convictions, In my opinion this should be no different if he's found guilty

Exactly. He was attending a private party, to which he had permission to attend by Liverpool FC.
Let's not hang one of the best, if not the best English footballer out to dry before he is even in court.

Why?
We do for every other person suspected of something.

im thinking it probably wasnt gerrard who started it tbh

If Joey Barton got away with it so will Gerard, lets face it the laws of normal society don't appear to apply to these ******s

Why would his club not support him, he's innocent until proven guilty, just like anybody else.
I didn't realise so many people were so keen to see him hung, drawn and quartered.

Do you know the circumstances ?
Liverpool did not have to say they would support him. What is there to support? and if he is guilty, then there supporting a criminal.
If he isn't then good luck to him, but he needs to choose his mates carefully. In the public Eye, he cannot make to many of these mis-haps happen in his life.

i dont follow football, hate it in fact but it is like that guy that got sent to prision for hitting someone in his car and while he was in there a club signed him for when he was released.
it could go like that ross and brand thing were they went for his job, just depends what people deside to get there backs up about

Do you know how many players there are playing or managing in the English Football leagues with a criminal record?
Remember the Eric Cantona kung Fu kick, everyone went nuts until the full details of the so called ''fan'' became public.

None of this makes it right, just that Gerrard is a highly paid and public profiled star and of course it hits the front pages.

Don't be so quick to judge, if he is found guilty, he should face the full extent of the law, which I believe falls into the same category as the one Barton was jailed for (maximum 5 years sentence)

Worth a read for some context: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/liverpool/4030717/Steven-Gerrard-innocent-until-proved-otherwise.html

Barton & Gerrard are as different as chalk and cheese. As a Man City fan I was thoroughly ashamed of Barton and the long list of incidents that he became embroiled in. We sold him when he assaulted another player. He was then involved in another serious assault for which he was jailed. The lad has a screw loose to put it mildly.

Until recently Stevie Gerrard lived up the road from me, as does Jamie Carragher who still does. Both are down to earth lads who you often see in Sainsburys shopping or in Jamie's case in the local sandwich shop after training. They will chat with everyone and sign anything. Jamie even took the European Cup into a primary school a few years ago and all the kids were playing with it. I also recently was given a signed shirt for the kids and staff that I work with that now takes pride of place on the playroom wall (alongside an Everton shirt in the interest of equality).

I am not aware of what happened at the club. What I would say is that on occasions when I have been chatting to Liverpool or Everton players I have witnessed some of the silly comments that opposing fans (or people who have had a drink) have shouted. Some were really personal about Gerrards girlfriend. Well out of order!

I recently had a shirt signed by Rhobino in Manchester and as we were talking a fella shouted "f%*k off back to Spain you blue b£$&*!d". Now that moron would not have had any interest in the fact that Rhobino was signing a shirt at the time for a child who is ill. Rhobino just laughed at him. I am not sure that he fully understood. I was incredibly angry. This was also shouted whilst there were children about!

Footballers are not superhuman. On occasion they get it wrong. Lets wait for some facts before we pass judgement.

Chris :)

You forgot to mention the stubbing of the cigar in a team-mates eye incident!

I would totally agree with this, some of the top premier players are nice down to earth blokes while others are primadonna prats so it's not fair to judge until we see the total outcome of the case, however while i agree everyone needs a social life and needs to let their hair down, it probably wasn't wise to stay in a club so late just for the fact their will always be some idiot ready to take a pop at you once their pi**ed up, particularly if your in the public eye.

i dont know in the chem plant i used to work quite a few had been in jail for violence, and got into fights, but never got sacked

Because he is famous a footballer and in this crazy world , where celebrity and money talk you can do just about what you like.

As he has only been charged and not convicted of the assault, I will only say that no one has discussed on the TV the injurys recieved to the DJ a working man doing his job.

As for the assertion that Gerard has been 'a good servant to liverpool' perhaps it's time for a reality check, he and the other 11 millionares he works with kick a bag of wind around for a living :bonk:

On the radio they interviewed a gentleman who was also in the pub/club on the same evening. He said Gerrard was happy to sign autographs and have his photo taken with other people in the club. This chap did say he left before any trouble started, but it sounded like Gerrard was NOT being the total prat many so called star are.

We have no idea at all about what went on or who started what, and should not judge before any trial. It should be a jury who decides guilt not some tabloid paper wanting a quick cheap headline.
