Yes
Nice simple question really.
I was gifted a Sigma SA-300 by the centre manager, with her telling me its been sat on a wardrobe for years and at most she only ever used the auto features, and would like it to be used by someone who knows what they're doing (I think she's referring to me, deluded thing that she is).
Got a couple of lenses with it, so used a spare roll of film and decided to take a few shots to get a feel for it.
Upon raising it to my eye, I noticed the viewfinder was yellow. Thinking it was the lens, I swapped lenses, but no, same thing. Had a brief look sans lens and it is indeed yellow in the viewfinder.
I had a quick google and found that this wasn't a feature of the camera, so... anyone have any idea whats caused it?

Thanks in advance
Mads

Possibly from a smokers household? Have you tried to clean the glass inside the viewfinder with a cotton bud and some form of cleaner yet?

Do you mean the yellow is on the lens or in the viewfinder glass - I can't qute make it out from your post?

Have a look at the focusing screen from where the lens would be, it could be that. If not, the glass on the finder itself may have got it through age, not sure :hmm:

Thanks for the replies guys.
Chris, I've been awake far too long so I'm waffling a bit I'm afraid. The lenses are clean, so its either, as far as I can figure, the mirror, the focussing screen or the little glass bit in the viewfinder.
It is indeed from a smokers household, though I'm confused why one of the above would be tinted, but the lenses themselves aren't.

Maybe the lens had the cap on - so isn't yellow. Whereas the viewfinder is continually exposed. Hence it's yellow. Try some cotton buds and water with a tiny drop of fairy liquid, and just use the damp cotton bud head to try and shift the yellow from the viewfinder exterior glass... See if has any effect..

Good plan, I'll give it a whirl in a few days, when I'm not on nights
