Hi. Not sure if I am posting this in the right place. I have a compact Canon S60 powershot. I have recently noticed that the LCD screen is flickering when I switch it on to take a photo and also the top third of the screen is darker than the rest (a bit like a tinted sunvisor across the windscreen of a car). This doesn't happen when I view the photos I've taken. It's fully charged. Any suggestions?

It's almost certainly on the way out - on the off chance it is still in warranty, get it fixed now. If not...cross fingers!

Does it have an auto brightness feature of some sort ?, have a look in the settings menu. Other than that sounds like its broken!

Oh flip. Thanks folks. I've had it for about 5 years and am just trying to move it off auto.....perhaps it's gone into a state of shock??!!

Have just been to the camera shop and they sadi that it's the sensor and it won't be worth repairing............oh well, better start saving.......

what do the photos look like? if they look ok it wont be the sensor

It may be the screen, not sure if it will have an inverter, most lcd screens do in laptops, monitors etc but it could be that
