Why, if yesterday was the first day of summer...........

Well they did forecast it so there you go
nothing but rain down this end of the country

Making me look harder for cheap hols abroad in 2 weeks, was tempted to stay in the UK and play with the camera, not so sure now!!!

Think it might be a case of fun in the sun, just found a 5* All inclusive for £300 if I can go on certain flights and dates which fall into the two weeks off. Never been to Corfu though lol!

We had some seriously heavy rain this evening down here in Essex, with loads of water on the roads. I was driving in it and the A12 was awful. I'm glad to be inside now.I heard on the TV that Scotland is likely to get quite a bit of snow over the next 24 hours. So take care.

I should have said "summertime", doesn't mean it's stopped snowing though, does it? :p

If I may quote the great philosopher Thomas O'Jonas "It's not unusual" :)

March and April snowfalls are more common than you think. It's where a fetch of cold air plunges southwards in from the Arctic at such a rapid rate it doesn't have a chance to get modified (warmed up by the sun as the sun itself climbs higher above the horizon) as it heads towards Blighty.

And here's a couple of photos I've taken of a Spring snow event which occured at Kent on the 6th of April 2008 (two years ago).

It's where up to 4 inches settled over the hills, but it was only because most of the snow fell during the night so it was able to settled unimpeded as night time temperatures fell below freezing. But as soon as the sun popped up above the horizon, all that snow was gone within an hour after these two photos were taken.
