I was just wondering why manufacturers are now dumping 'settings lcd's' on the entry-level/enthusiast cameras? I didn't buy above the 350D because it is suddenly deleted from the model.

Using the main LCD screen to dislpay/adjust basic settings is ilogical, it uses extra battery life and seems unesscessary. Can anoybody explain this?

Yep, but then the 40D and 50D are moving into a more advanced market where you're talking bigger bucks :(

40D prices are dropping, and bear in mind the 30D....still a fantastic camera :)
