...today, for the first time, I experienced roadside recovery. My Fiat Stilo decided to dump it's coolant all over B&Q car park out the rad after what appears to be an altercation with a rather large wasp. Wonderful. I head to Canada in just over a week, so I'm not fixing it yet.

Not bad though, the part is less than £90 or so, but it's a pain to fit :razz:

Isn't it amazing how a little thing like a wasp can bring a car down.



But then again, it is a Fiat.

While I'll agree Fiat has a bad rep...the car's 6 years old, I've had it for 4, and it's the first problem I've ever had with it. I had a 10 year old Punto before my Stilo and even that wasn't too troublesome (ironically, the rad went on that too ). I was worried about how much the part is, but it should be less than £100 and I can fit it myself. I was worried it might get in the way of me buying my mobile studio kit!

The rad's as something that cannot be helped, they get destroyed from stones and things.

the radiator core must have been rotten for a wasp to finally kill it , 6 years old

9 out of 10 holes in radiators are caused by wasps and bees.

I think the bigger problem spilling fluids on your keyboard is if you spill coke etc on it, as it corrodes the contacts and soldered joints.
