Well, I've just finished removing all my pics from another photography forum (begins in E and ends in zine and has photo in the middle) because I found that hardly anyone comments on my pictures due mainly, I think, to them falling off the gallery so quickly and that some of the comments on shots, not my own fortunately, were really rude and dismissive.:razz:
Now onto this site. I really like it. Everyone is helpful and supportive, and quite often funny as well, and I think that the shots uploaded on here get the attention they deserve because they dont disappear in 5 minutes.:clap:
So just a big thanks to all who have commented, critiqued and helped me become a better photographer, even though I've only been here for a couple of weeks.

You were a damned fine photographer, ever before you got here. I really like your images. If you are better now, it's because you read the good advice and applied it with intelligence and a positive attitude. I look forward to seeing plenty more good images from you.

I am on another forum that tends to be a bit stuffy, but this forum definitely has a friendly atmosphere... like a neighborhood pub.

There are just some forums that you know you want to be a part of, and then there are the ones that you're there for...well, I don't know why but it's best to just leave them and come to ones like this one.

Scotland = photos = 1000 per week = lots of post prod for you = lots of good stuff for us to comment on = we praise you to the hills - done deal.

I agree, I have been watching on here for months, and it is really nice, funny too. now I am going to regret this, but what on earth is a Bokeh???

It's the out of focus bits in the background of a shot. When all the detail is gone and you're left with a lovely soft blur of colours. :)

I'm glad you asked that. I've been looking at that abbreviation and thinking what the duck does that stand for. No set of words fitted for me. And I've been here longer than you.
 
BYOB, in the US, is an abbreviation friends use when planning a party or am impromptu get-together... it means Bring Your Own Booze.

I KNEW it would sound stupid if you guys didn't use the same acronym but I posted it anyway... what does that say about my native intelligence? :cuckoo::lol:

Funnily enough I'd worked out the BYOB acronym. Strange that I always seem to figure out anything to do with booze.
