Why have we all gone pink?

Getting back to the pinkness, I was going to suggest that it was to celebrate the launch of the original Pink Panther cartoons 40 years ago? After all, the first "full length" Pink Panther episode was launched in 1969, but then after a bit of research I noticed the Panther himself was seen in the opening and closing credits of the 1963 Peter Sellers film "The Pink Panther".



Or have we all gone gay or owt? Still, I'm glad you didn't go for red as that would remind me too much of my tomato greenhouse workplace.
