Why does my image look like this?!

When I transfer my images from my sd card into Lightroom I get a horrible mess of colour appear over the top.

Can anyone explain why?

They look ok in the preview and on my lcd display, its only when I import them into lightroom.

Could be a corrupt memory card can you try another one and see if you get the same effect

Yeah I tried that, same issue.

Then I tried shooting in jpeg which worked fine when I imported the file.

So must been something to do which the raw file?

Odd considering the.jpg is made from the RAW file.
My only thoughts are is it the camera / PC connection, is the cable duff ?, do you have a card reader so you could try that and rule out the connection.
Other than that no more ideas -sorry

Hi guys,

I think it may because I'm importing straight from my SD card. Ive just tried saving it to my hard drive first then importing into Lightroom, which worked fine.

Thanks for the help.

P.S I use a card reader to transfer my files, just seems quicker
