Because I have the bike!!!

(Sorry - the BB code thing isn't working on the new flickr - again!)
This is a 1948 Raleigh originally issued to Southport Borough Police. Bike was found languishing in the shed of an ex bobby who was going to tip it. It's been painted with the various pots of Hammerite in my garage, partly to hide the rust and partly as a security measure - who would want to be seen riding this?
Full spec of original equipment still on the bike is on the flickr photo. Curiously it has stainless spokes. No idea why!
In my racing days we reckoned to be able to pick up a bike with the little finger of our weakest hand. This thing can't be lifted with one hand - it needs both! Another security feature.
It still has the little lock on top of the front LH fork, but no key. Does anyone know where to get one, or even a new lock?
How does it ride? Just great. For someone with knackered knees and back it's very comfortable. And it's so damned slow that I won't be tempted to do the traffic lights Grand Prix!
Anyone else got an old battered bike they'd care to show us?
