Why is it that Bank Holiday weekends are ALWAYS when problems happen?
Got up this morning, all ready to dive in the shower... only to find that water from the taps is literally dribbling out. The water pressure is much worse upstairs than it is downstairs. We've checked all the internal stuff like boiler, pipes and stop tap - all ok. After a pop round to the neighbours, we find that they are having the same problem <breathes sigh of relief>.

Can we get hold of South East Water? No!!! :annoyed: Apparently they are experiencing high volumes of calls. Grrrrrr

All I want is a shower :'(

Ok, rant over - I feel much better now :D

Must be a burst pipe somewhere. I hope they get it sorted, although the chances of the road getting dug up before Tuesday are probably slim! :(

Eventually managed to get through to S.E. water.... we had a power cut last night which lasted all of about 2 seconds (the PC re-booted and the lights flashed on and off). This apparently affected the water pumps and they have men on the job as I type.

I managed to have a quick shower - jumping around :naughty: trying to get under the dribble of water coming from the shower head - which kept running hot and cold. I can think of better ways to spend my Sunday morning :p

ahhhh. Just had a nice hot shower and I'm ready to go to bed. :)

Surely Dave can pull a few strings to get them to sort your water out as a priority Cheryl ? :p :D .

Talking of problems...I was ready to put this PC in the bin this morning :annoyed: . Switched it on and...nothing, no windows, nowt :help: . Tried all the usual stuff till the thing was going to use the 'Mesh' system restore to kindly wipe the whole hard drive and put it back to factory settings. Then remembered I had a Ghost backup from a couple of months back...not ideal, would prob lose loads of stuff, but not everything.
So put in the Ghost CD and discovered it had a version of Disk Doctor, yippee :woot: , fixed the prob and I'm now working in Windows OK.

Now I'm gonna backup all my pics, daughters homework etc onto removable disk (just in case the 'fix' does'nt last).

....then I'm gonna buy a Mac :gag:

Dave works for Thames Water, not South East Water... so not much use

Re the PC thing - glad you got it working again. That's my next job - to back everything up as the PC won't be coming to Canada with us. Dave is talking about getting a Mac too.

ha ha, I've been 'THINKING ABOUT' getting one for years. :D :D :D

and I reckon I'll be thinking about it this time next year too. :p

Do backup stuff. I've got one of those USB 320 GB drives - cheap and fast...just how I like 'em :D

I've spent the whole weekend at that. Went to put some more RAM into mine and somehow managed to kill the motherboard, no idea how it happened but it did.

Picked up a new board on saturday, spent the rest of the day reinstalling programmes, everything working perfect. Went into the BIOS to tweak the memory timings, decided against it and set "optimised defaults" and this ferking board won't post now, looks like the BIOS is trashed and I've tried everything to reset it. Can't wait for an RMA so I'm going to have to get another board today and I can't get the same one so that means another reinstall tonight :bang:

And the wifes not happy as she's expecting a couple of emails which she's supposed to reply to today :(

Loads of fun Doddy ... not! :(

I don't know why the thought of minimeeze (jumping) under a drip is making me laugh:D
