Why do people hide the picture properties on their flickr?

[nice mode] Right chaps and chapesses - everyone is entitled to an opinion and is allowed to voice it. However, if you could be good people and keep it civil that would be very helpful indeed. [/nice mode]

...and don't forget to use smileys where appropriate either :nono: ;)

Wow, interesting read this.
Funnily enough I use manual all the time at work, but only because it's easier for the specific job.
Don't forget 'P' is for Professional ;)

Closer to the topic, I'd guess but can't be 100% sure that it is mainly save for web stripping EXIF.
I didn't realise you can set it to retain EXIF so thanks for that info, I'll deffo be looking as setting that up

I don't strip, but generally hide the EXIF on flickr.

Why? Not sure, but probably because I use Sony and want feedback to be about the picture rather than the camera. I didn't use too, but had someone comment on the camera that I used on a forum (provoking an argument) - not this one BTW, as there would be no point! (and wasn't related to the picture), and didn't want to have to deal with the situation again.
So it was easy for me to tick the box, 'Hide EXIF data' and have an anonymous camera.

But I'm sure people do this for all sorts of reasons. Not sure i 'buy' the argument related to 'P', 'A' and 'M', but possibly some Pros hide for this reason.
I think probably the biggest reason I think is that, if you hide the EXIF, it avoids ANY any of the discussions that people are talking about above and below my post ;)

apparently, from what i've read... in CS3 if you just Save As it retains EXIF, however the SFW system strips EXIF and you can't prevent it from doing so :(

Yep, I can't seem to find how to make SFW include EXIF in CS3. If anybody knows how to do it please say how.
I prefer SFW as it seems to make much smaller files than Save as.. at similar looking qualities.
