Am referring of course to upgrading to windows 8.1
Just done it (took ages) and all the text on the screen now looks soft and blurry!
spent 30 minutes messing around to see on my system if the upgrade has cocked up the screen resolution (it hadn't) then turned to google;

So glad I've stuck with straight 8!

Let's put the toys back in the pram and go about this rationally shall we..

First off are you sure the browser isn't zoomed?

Secondly does your graphics card have a functioning 8.1 driver? And are you running the currect resolution

browsers not zoomed, not sure how i find out if the graphics card has a functioning 8.1 driver, checking the res was the first thing i did.:bang:
really frustrated! literally page after page after page of complaints on the web about the 'fuzzy text', most of it though to do with 8.0 version!

Wow, that took 5 seconds to Google...

http://superuser.com/questions/661655/applications-like-chrome-look-blurry-in-windows-8-1

My main tip - don't use Yahoo for search it is sooooo bad as is Bing.

Page upon page of people who can't search and so ask somewhere. 1 little issue where users are probably using a different size text to normal and something in WIndows 8.1 'adjusted' it. We have upgraded about 20 machines without an issue.

great! you've upgraded 20 machines without an issue...i have an issue! you're clearly better with computers than me, but there's no need to be condescending.
i 'thought' this section we be a good place to get help.

You seem to have got help, both in terms of fixing your problem and advice as to which search engine is better at providing useful results. TBH I'd be embarrassed at failing to find an answer because I'd used yahoo or bing when the answer was out there all along.

You said there are pages upon pages with the same error. You will probably find a hundred people if that had the problem, they asked on a few sites, but these sites are crawled and appear on other sites which makes the problem appear worse than it is. You also don't see the million or more who upgraded without this issue.

Micros***e?? Not really

The issue was also reported on here with a solution....

You were let down by Yahoo/Bing which you may not of realised was s***e, move over to Google, so much easier to find stuff.

Custom scaling. Pretty simple fix.
