Regarding Elements Organizer that came with PSE9.

So when in folder location, which is how I prefer to use Organizer, why isnt there and option to show them in date order. You can if you put them in an album so why couldnt Adobe add that simple option, that you can do in most other programs, to it's folder location display?? I makes sorting really diff icult and I have wasted hours trying to work out a way around this. It seems to me that unless the files are named in a numaric order you cant show them in date order, only file name order. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Anyone else come across this and managed to sort it out or have and answer to why Adobe couldnt be bothered to add such an obvious thing to their crappy organizer??

Is it any better with the LR5?

There are multiple sort options available in LR from date taken through file name, even number of edits! Seems to work well for me :)

Begs the question why couldn't they do it in elements. As it is to see files in date order, I DL my photos using windows explorer and they are grouped using a folder system - might be old school but works for me, I have to make an album of them and then I can select dtae oldest to newest etc.

Lightroom is becoming more appealing all the time, but might wait for LR6.

In the meantime perhaps give Digikam a try. With all its multitude of options. I use Digikam to: Import to folders -> organise by thumbnails -> Open in editors -> Upload

I have Microsoft Digital Image and the organizer on that is very good. It works just like WE then some. But if you change thngs in that elements organizer get confused, and I need to use elements organizer for CR2 files.
