Why can't I link to Flick pictures?

Although I've been a member on Flickr for a couple of years, I haven't actually used it very much. I thought I would post a picture from it, but for some reason all I get is small box. I've been on enough forums to understand BBcode, but this seems to be a permissions issue on Flickr.

So, if I click on an image (which as far as I am aware is set as public), then click the share box (the one with the arrow coming out of it) I get a few options. Using the 'link to this photo' option brings up the box below.

Clicking the </> symbol tells me to share the photo publicly to embed this photo, which I guess would be html code but may also give the option of BBcode?

Any ideas greatly appreciated?

You need the code provided by the pin-it icon. Click that and choose your size then copy and paste your code in the message.

Hope this helps

Has to be BBCode for the forum :)

It would help if it gave a code to copy, all I get is a message saying to share the image publicly to view embed code. As above, as far as I am aware, the pictures are public?

If you click my Flickr link in my sig, can you see any images?

Yep see plenty of pics :)

When I click your share icon and the pin-it icon it tells me its restricted for sharing as is standard now on flickr when your not the image owner, but it should still work for you

Actually, I've just checked and I now can't get the BB code on the beta version of Flickr. I now get this:

View attachment 3066
I believe it is flickr policy now that only the owner of the photo has access to the bbcode

Steve

Hmm same on the non-beta ... bbcode link has gone

That seems right ... I can get the code to my own images in the non-beta version but I can't get it for anyone else.

Ahhh  shame there is no

Flickrs all gone a bit pear shaped since they changed it although I am having no problems. Are your photos 'public'

Steve

Glad it's not just me, thought I was cracking up. How do you get to the non beta version?

Click on a photo and you should get a button, bottom left, which says "Opt-out & Feedback"

Just wanted to say thanks for this - was getting similar issues myself!!

Cheers,

Matt
