Why aren't you shooting Pentax?

They don't make anything that does what I want. Simple as that.

A little like Pete - I was a Pentax film shooter. However I didnt have much ion the way of lenses. When looking at a digital camera i took the option of chaging to Nikon. Why Nikon - well 1) lens choice; 2) the reviews I read pointed me at Canon or Nikon - the Pentax equivalent was not considered as good; 3) tried them in a shop and chose the Nikon. Not looked back tbh

In short... probably marketing!

That said the camera is a tool. If I had Pentax I would be using it.

Just bought a K5 to replace my Nikon:p

The Nikon upgrade was the D7000 which is bigger and heavier than I wanted.

It is a little concerning that in reviews at photozone.de and/or DX0mark MTF figures are always higher for Nikon than Pentax even on the same 16mp sensor.

Only just coming to the DSLR way of photography, I was just looking for a camera to get going. I found a Pentax K20 with the following...

Pentax 28-80 (powered zoom), 3.5-4.7
Pentax 18-55, 3.5-5.6
Pentax 80-320 4.5-5.6
Sigma 28-105 2.8-4
External flash
13, 21 & 31mm extension tubes
Mini tripod
Remote control
Manfrotto bag
One lens had an ND filter on it :)

Ok, the lenses aren't the best glass on the market and the camera is a few years old, but £250 for the lot makes for a very good starter kit for someone like me :D

I'm currently obsessing over the 645Z, for me this is access to something i could never aspire to a few yrs ago. Now to start saving and i could be shooting Pentax soon :)

That is a brilliant deal. Precisely the sort of thing I'd recommend someone who was in my position a few months ago... Enjoy!
