Why am I struggling with ebay?

On firefoix it continually crashes the Shockwave plugin, and on Chrome it just doesn't work properly at all most of the time for various reasons.

Recently the most common issue is listing an item - if I can get past the choose category stage (it's got an annoying habit of greying out the selectors so I can't choose!) I enter item details and it will hang on any drop down boxes. If I get past that I get redirected back to the page being told I must fill out the sections in red - which are filled in! I get stuck in this loop quite often, sometimes it happens on the login too! There are days when I just have to give up and not list anything because it just isn't behaving at all.

Now I don't have issues with any other websites on the internet at all, only ebay so I'm pretty sure it's not an issue with my laptop, but equally I'm sure there would have been some sort of uproar if it was widespread. So what the hell is going on?

Oh and to add, the ebay app for Windows Phone often misbehaves too, though going to the mobile site usually works, although it's next to useless.

Stuff like this often happens in phases then disappears. So despite your frustration, if you're lucky it'll just go away. Sites like that seem to have bursts of restructuring followed by a week or two of ironing out the glitches ...

Also, I use Firefox normally but keep Chrome or something else on hand for emergencies.

A couple of thoughts, make sure you've go the latest plugin - www.adobe.com/downloads

And try clearing your browser cache (Advanced, Network, Clear Now for the current version of Firefox, on Chrome it's Settings, History, Clear Browsing Data then tick only Cached Images and File)

I have not listed any items on eBay for almost a year, but back then I found that Google Chrome was not totally compatible with Ebay (main issue was formatting) which was confirmed by Ebay Customer Services who suggested I use Internet Explorer which I used for listings without any issues. This still may be the case?

As said above eBay does appear to tweak/ restructure its pages frequently, so you may find the glitches cure themselves with time.

Another issue with eBay / Google Chrome related to "watched items" being forgotten and I had to clear all ebay cookies each time Google Chrome was started - could be worthwhile clearing all eBay cookies?

That's another one I'd forgotten, I always click watch again just to be sure, though they are always there in my watch list when I check.

Oddly, buying never seems to have problems!
