I have a Nikon D7000 DSLR along with a Yongnuo 468 II flash gun. (Which is fantastic by the way)

All I want is to be able to trigger my flash gun remotely using a hotshoe to hotshoe cable. Just so that it extends the distance.

I cannot find this kind of cable anywhere! PC trigger cables, remote cables, it's all there apart form this one simple solution... Am I missing something?

Many thanks if you can answer or forward me to a cheap solution.

That is absolutely exactly what I want, I would have thought they could be a little cheaper than that as it is a very simple cable?

I would be looking at getting something like this then, however in the description it mentions being compatible with Nikon Speedlights. Is a Nikon camera with a Nikon compatible speedlight then limited by the flash sync cable extension? I would have thought they were universal as it is just metal contacts being extended...

Well if it's for TTL the pin pattern will be different for different makes of camera. Your hot-shoe is different from mine. Unless you just want a PC sync cable which isn't TTL compatible (there are slight variations but it's an almost universal fit)

Surely all Nikon cameras have the same TTL pin pattern?

If a speedlight is 'Nikon compatible' it'll replicate the Nikon TTL pin pattern (otherwise it wouldn't be compatible;))

I'm fairly sure all modern Nikon's will:thinking:

Great i'm going to go ahead and buy one of those then. It is mainly for low key portraits, the technique I was using is getting the flash to trigger in slave mode while the pop up flash on my D7000 fires and directing it away from the subject.. It got pretty good results but the background just about makes it's way into the picture...

You should see how much the Nikon one costs!

Do you mean that you are using the pop up flash to trigger another flash but the pop up flash is adding too much light to the scene? If so, you could put an infra red or very deep red filter in front of the pop up flash. It will still trigger your main flash but with a greatly reduced visible output. A good source of infra red filter is the blank exposed and processed leader from Kodachrome.

Item 121053537605 on eBay will do what you want for under a tenner delivered, the bonus over a radio trigger is that it is half the price and will use the TTL of the flash, the egative is that you have the cable getting in the way and restricting you to just a couple of meters of room.
