who's had a speeding fine before?

my 3 points come off this year i'm pleased to say, since having a ford focus i've been points free for 3 yrs, the Vectra GSi i had was bloody good fun but it's time for pipe & slippers with taking into account the price of petrol :(

you forgot option number 3.

My wife claims it was her and she sends of her license instead

Just so you know, that is known as "Attempting to pervert the course of justice."

You don't get a £60 fine and three points for that. Typically you get a 12 month stay at Her Majesty's pleasure for a first offence.

Think very very hard before taking this course.

:plusone: And anyone involved in taking someone else's points would also be at risk of committing the same offence.
A conviction for attempting to pervert, has to be disclosed in certain types of job application, employment.
Think of it this way - its an official conviction, exposing you as a liar / cheat.

Thats Perverting the course of Justice, which carries more than 3 points. Normally a prison sentence! Not worth it.

EDIT - beaten to it...

Never been done for speeding. Why? I stay within the law - I don't drive over the speed limit, they are there for a purpose. Sermon over!

p.s. I've been driving for more than 40 years.

My ex-partner said something along the same lines as that (not the 40yr part) and within 2weeks got caught

Plus the longer you leave it the fine gets higher - I know as mine did, then the its no longer a a SP fine it ends up as the one that says - "MS90 Failure to give information as to identity of driver etc" which I think is worse that the SP code...
