Who's going where for thier holidays?

Duncan F: Kelling Heath is great, you been before? We were there a couple of years ago, the steam trains that go through the site were great and the area is wonderful. If military stuff is your bag there the Muckleborough collection five minutes away.

18 days in Botswana for me in August. Can't wait!

Taking my parents for their first time there as we are having our marriage blessed in my husbands home village and also going to Chobe, Moremi, Vic Falls, Makgadikgadi etc. :thumbs:

Am really p'ed off with the airlines though - we fly a month after the world cup final, and the flights for 4 people have cost me an extra £1200 than they did last summer - that money was earmarked for the 300 F4 L IS too! :bang:

Hoping to go to Switzerland too sometime before the end of the year.
 
Family holiday not booked but we are thinking Holland in August (again) and girlie holiday to Toronto/Niagara in October. :D

We stay at Duinrell in Holland - campsite with theme park and water pool - suits my three kids perfectly.
 
going to florida for a week in a couple of weeks, then hopefully manage a few weekends away somewhere later in the year and depending on work and stuff hopefully crash my parents week away or go away for a week with the gf for her 21st.... i need more money to do all of the above though.
 
I'm off in May for a cruise on a narrowboat from the Midlands down to London and back....for a whole month!

well I live in Bude so the biggest difference is the boats are a bit bigger, but it'll be nice to see the friend I'm staying with again, its been too long

Enjoy it mate we only managed a weekend away at Brid last year, this year we will tour Britain .............we hope:thumbs:
 
Wow there are some great holiday ideas, home and away, i hope you all have a great time, i know i will.

I think everyone earns at least a week away from home every year. If you have time off work and do not go away you only end up wasting the week and not getting the rest.
 
Back garden, as we will have just moved by then and will be uber skint. Moving costs a bloody fortune arghhhh!!!!!

But to all those going away, have a snaptastic holiday :thumbs::D:thumbs:
 
I'm just having lots of long weekends this year instead of a proper holiday. It means I get to go away more often.

I've already been away twice - Tain (north of Inverness a bit) in Feb, and Bristol / Cotswolds 2 weeks ago.

I'm planning to head to a few motorsport events over summer (not yet planned which ones though) which will be camping weekends, and I'll also be going camping in the Highlands (two or three times, or maybe four) and the Lake District, and spending time in Cumbria and heading to the south of England again for a long weekend (though I'm not quite sure whereabouts yet). So I won't really be going very far, but doing lots of driving :)
 
of t'egypt at the end of june, nile cruise for a week and then cairo and luxor.. cant wait, have done a nile cruise before but never been to cairo - we nearly frazzled in april last time so I guess factor 50 will be a must for our pasty skin :)

later in the year going to either greece or turkey, cant decide as have never been to either before.. want somewhere to suit anoraks as not a great fan of lying on a beach all day.. this one is courtesy of tesco clubcard :)
 
Was toying with the idea of going to Tunisia this year but was put off by friends that have been there they were quite negitive about how the locals treat women so decided to go to Cuba instead of in 14 weeks 4 days 21 hours and 9 min's not that I'm counting.

I went to Tunisia about 28 yrs ago, the only negative I could give about how they treat women is the rumours that if you went on a camel ride they would try to kidnap the women. That never happened on the camel ride we went on. You do get alot of peddlers on the beach trying to sell their stuff, but we found if you pretended to be asleep, they left you alone.
 
Currently unemployed so extended weekends in Burnham on Sea in our static caravan & 2 weeks there in June as well.

Oh well, would prefer somewhere hot for the main hols but never mind

We normally have one long weekend at least under our belts by now, but due to job change it's been work, work, work - our first week will be to the West Coast of Scotland as normal.........can't wait!!

Our next, later in the year haven't been finalised but will probably be one to Europe somewhere and one to the States. Cash in parents timeshare thingy ponts for the Europe one so nice and economical! :D

Some of my best holiday memories were in caravans in the UK. We used to try to get one on a farm and my boys loved them.I think with holidays its who you are with more than where you go. Thats my experience anyway.
 
Booked a long weekend in mid/late August as well. Going to Paris.
 
I really fancy Egypt next year, a week on the antiqueties(sp?) trail you know Valley of the kings etc etc and then a week in the sun. The wife did it a few years ago with here ex (grrr) so that ruled it out as our honeymoon last year.

There are loads of places in the UK I'd like to get around to, Dorset appeals as does Kent.
