We're none of us perfect and I'm pretty sure we've all cocked up in some way(s) photographically - either leaving the lens we need at home, the memory card in the reader oir the battery on charge.
Hopefully I can create a poll with the option to vote for more than one of the options, just to see which are the most common.
Feel free to vote "Other" as well as any of the preselected options and maybe a kindly mod/admin could add any options they feel suitable.

Other! The film's still in the fridge/freezer!

Memory and batteries. You only do it once - after that you put a set of both in the glove-box for emergencies!

other ....left my camera gear at a friends house 26 miles away, had to go back next day and collect. :bonk:

I had a whole day of long exposures on the cards about 40 miles from home until I realised I'd forgotten the QR plate. Using a bag and phone to prop the camera isn't quite the same :)

All my gear is in the one bag so I've never forgotten anything. Batteries are not a problem either as I can use AAs in the battery grip. The one thing I have done regularly is not have my camera with me when I see a cracking photo opp.

There's no option for having left the wife at home?

If I'm lucky, she's my sherpa, so I try very hard not to leave her behind!

For the purposes of this poll, a friend's house counts as home (so does the inlaw's house!

Other - taken everything, but forgotten to charge the battery !!

All of them at one time or another

Batteries and memory card. Actually re:batteries.. had them in the car, walked a mile, and then realised I'd not got 1 in :D

Now I always have a battery in - I also keep my spare batteries in my camera bag as well as a couple of memory cards, just in case.

Also voted myself - I'm sure everyone has, for some reason, not gone out and wished they had though!

I left the camera autofocus on, after meticulously focusing infrared shots manually in live-view... only realised at home that everything was out of focus.

Done most of the above, including going out for some star trails, driving around for about an hour to find a spot, find it, get out the car..................................ah balls, where's me tripod!

I once left my battery at home had to walk 2 miles back to get it :(

I have done this, but I had taken the train for miles, spent ages figuring out how to get into the building (was exploring at the time), got in, set up my stuff and the turned the camera on...

...so I packed up and walked back to the station

Left the camers bag at home but luckily it was a family trip out and the camera was not the reason for going out.

I've taken the camera into London ready for an entire day's worth of photos, only to realise I'd forgotten to charge the battery.

I also borrowed a D300s from my uni for a shoot and gave it back with my tripod plate on the bottom. :x

I've left the memory card at home before now. :bonk:

My most recent 'mistake' was leaving the tripod head on the wrong tripod. :bonk: I ended up with the camera propped up against the tripod on the floor. Wonky pictures, but at least I got the pictures. ;)

Just word of caution for those that keep all their gear ready and waiting in their camera bag. It makes a handy takeaway item for burglars as I have found to my cost. :(
