Own up if you wear a photography vest and is it useful?

I don't by the way, just seen loads for sale and got wondering just how useful one would be.

I use one of these for some of my equine work. I wore it all day at Blenheim Horse Trials last year, it was really comfortable and held everything I needed for the day.

Hacker. Looks like a nice piece of kit. Not sure I would want to wear one in a city combined with a long lens. Bound to draw the wrong kind of attention.

Thanks Snake Man, it is good for the type of events I do when you can't always get back to the car and it is much easier than carrying a bag or rucksack.

I wear the Domke photo vest, it is really good, loads of pockets for filters, batteries, memory cards etc.,

Any chance of a rough idea on pocket sizes, do you reckon you could get a 100-400 in one of them ?.
Just about to hit the B.I.N button on one but would like to check if possible.

My Nikon 80-400 and 70-200 both fit in the large front pockets.

Answer to the question. Who wears a Photog Vest? ...... NOT ME

I use a cheap version from the Garden centre too, very useful on trips away from the car, just watch the open though pockets

Just don`t wear it on the tube near any armed police officers.....

I tried one once. I found the pockets , whilst there were a lot of them. just weren't big enough. What I really need is a poachers jacket.;)

Having looked the one hacker wears i'm seriously tempted.

Especially for use at circuits where I can't get back to my car during the day and the slingshot 300 just isn't enough for all the extra stuff you need to take on a full day out...

I've got one of those SA viper assault vests, use it when I go off round the Peak District. Bloody useful things they are, I recommend them.

I wear a magicians jacket, loads of pockets.
Just spent the last half hour trying to attach a white bunny to the front of my camera, and my lens cleaning cloth is now multi coloured and 45 foot long:lol:
Dean:nuts:

If that's Hacker in the picture.... he seems completely 'armless! :D

They look a bit like the utility belt as worn by the orginal Batman!

Went over the top in buying this vest ,as a beginner I never realized that the only thing I had to stow away was my lens cover and tube of Smarties :D

Another bump for the Domke, I find it useful when shooting events and extremely handy when flying - too much weight in my handluggage, you say, Miss Attitude? No problem - nothing said about putting kit into my clothes pockets, is there? ;) Through passport control, into the departure lounge and re-fill the bag ;)
