Yes
SO who bulk rolls? and what are you using?

I've just ordered a roll of kodak 5222 double-x to try, bit of a risk as 400' is the shortest roll they do (cost about £110), this is a 35mm B&W motion picture stock. Nominally 200ASA and very much like a '70s tri-x with slightly lower quality control (the odd pin hole and blemish doesn't matter so much at 24fps).

So anyone else shoot odd film?

And anyone else who bulk loads do you have a few spare spool centres I could try putting 100' off this on to get it into my bulk loader!

I've just ordered some Kodak plusx and loader for my first foray into rolling my own.

I used to, found it a cheap way to buy film. Sold my loader some years ago and now regret it. Wil probably try and get another loader at some point in the future and do it again.

I will be keen to hear about how the 5222 turns out.

Ooo Adrian, what are you doing in here?

Puggie - you looking to use this for stills?

Yep. we were looking for a cheap reliable B&W for people to use at uni for stills and this looked about the best bang for buck.

Well, I can now officially join the 'rolled my own' club.
Mine didn't have a spindle thing, but it's only 25ft so it didn't really need one I suppose.

where dod you get the plusx from? IIRC its been out of production for a while now.

I got about 100' of Double-x off my bulk roll onto an old spool core and into the bulk loader this evening. I've done 6 cassettes from it and will hopefully shoot one tomorrow :)

eBay. One of the persons is selling as a kit, loader, 25ft of film (it's entirely possible th film isn't what they said, mind), and some canisters for 26£ inc shipping... Think tth same persons doing 100ft rolls for 40£
