Methinks there's something afoot in the Wilkinson household this Christmas, they're both at it with these strange "do you remember?" posts :suspect:

Radio Luxemburg 208 - I also remember the Horace Batchelor (?) football pools syndicate adverts too :)

Aye Radio Luxemburg, to say it was transmitted from miles away it always seemed to have the strongest signal.

yup radio luxemburg but also at the back of my memory is radio caroline ?? or have i dreamt that...

Kop kops & those bladdy flying saucers that tasted like cardboard and sherbert..

I even went to see the place while I was in Luxemburg and if I remember rightly Tony Prince was on air (but in my defence I was a wee bit on the young side)

Remember it well, I also remember some jingle that went along the lines of "Whats the recipe today Jim"" or do I:thinking:

Jimmy Clitheroe, Sunday afternoon radio.

And the testcard on tv all day, until programmes started at tea time until midnight-ish, followed by the national anthem.

And watching the first ever Doctor Who.

I remember most of these things- Radio luxemburg, the first Dr Who, Sing something simple ( we all sang along at home), Radio Caroline (My Dad didnt like them cause they were illegal). Also do you remember _ mods, rockers, teddy boys, winklepickers, Mini skirts ( the first time round),Juke box jury, Watch with mother on the BBC and Listen with Mother on the radio.

I know I'm old and dont care.

Definitely a real one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_caroline

Growing up on the east coast, there were a number of other pirate radio stations that could be picked up in favourable conditions. There was a Radio North Sea, for instance, that I picked up from time to time but I can't remember much about it.
