I would like to share what I call a mammouth task of photo editing success with just CS4 to hand. Who needs portrait professional when it can be done all in here!!

The poor little mite of a girl had had a viral infection and the rash she had was horrendous but had started to dry up! So we thought we'd give it a go..... after about 10 mins on each image I finally have a REALLY nice set of images, of which i am really proud of!!

Click on the all sizes button and then choose one that fits in the rules of the forum and underneath there should be two links. One should be long and the other will just be one line. Use the one line link and the insert image button.
 
You can use Portrait Professional as a plug-in with CS4 and for a quick result it is much easier for those of us not immersed in Photoshop. The problem usually lieswith letting PP use it's default settings which are very easy to over-ride.

I reckon your 10 minutes per image could be reduced to 2 with PP.
 
Yeah I understand PP. However when i have used the trial in the past I does not seem to work with faces and an angle... seems to have real issues with it.
 
That 'viral' rash looks an awful lot like chicken pox! Varicella Zoster being a virus and all!

Nice job on the remedial action though.
 
I never use those automatic plugins. We can get much better results if we do this kind of adjustment manually, as you did.
 
Bless her she was crying her head off when I got there, I took her clothes off and let her wriggle bare, She LOVED IT!! But the mum has had a nightmare with her being so ill!! But I love these images they are some of my most favourites so far!!

I must admit, as for plugins, I do love the nik ones but only use them when I want something MEGA punchy and can't do what I want without it.

Who cares how you did it or whether you used photoshop, plug-ins or anything else - you did a great job and answered the brief.

Yes with PS you can doo all that teh plugins do as most are just actions recorded for teh power of PS
I thought you phone had lost some of teh colour and look too cold here is a quick PS only fix not 100% as I would do but a quick one to show how you might get a bit more out of it
I make a copy layer to background ad a Gaussian blur the to top layer add a mask and cut through on the skin.
Make an adjustment levels layer and then a curve adjustment layer can click on the white of the eye and bright it back a bit on the opacity.

Just looked at your FB photos and the first three have too much magenta in them the other colour ones look much better
 
Hey yeah I had noticed the magenta was too high. I adjusted after the first couple. I think I just forgot to go back and do the others! I will go back and adjust tomorrow! Thanks for the input, graciously recieved! :)
