Who Needs a Camera?

an explanation as well as a link might work?

Hmmm not sure about it tbh.

Too tired to click? Never mind - go back to sleep.

His point I think is that this is a discussion forum, so posting a description of the link and an opinion of the content would help others to decide whether they want to follow the link or not. Starting a thread with nothing but a link is just lazy.

Ref the photorealistic drawings, something similar was posted last year I think, the artist Juan Francisco Casas uses a ballpoint pen to create the images. http://www.boredpanda.com/25-photorealistic-pictures-drawn-with-a-bic-pen/ There are others doing it too of course.

hmm 200 hours to draw it, (720000/1) or with a camera... 1/125 at ISO 100 f8?

why?

I can only really see a benefit if it's to do something that would be either impossible or or too expensive to setup for a photograph. But what with today's special effects I can't really imagine what?

Why not?

You could say "what's the point?" about any art. I could say "Why?" about your images. Your answer would be "Because I want to". The reality is he will probably sell his work.. so that may be the point.. to make money. So.. he's doing something he wants, and will probably make money from it.

Why do you take photographs?

Why not?

Why do you take photographs?

Currently, for memories of my 11 week old twin children, and for the next few years probably the same, so I can embarrass them on their 18th birthday party... as with all honesty I cannot see them being overly happy at being somewhere at the crack of dawn and hanging around for an hour to set up the shot, frame it, compose it, and then wait for the perfect light...

For me, serious photography, has hit the back burner for a while...

.. duplicate post..
