I met up with a couple today for lunch to discuss their upcoming wedding and afterwards we went off to the nearby park to take some photos, the light was amazing!!!

It was here at this park, had food at The Armoury pub nearby

We got stuff like this

But upon processing I noticed this in the reject pile....(missed focus) :bang:

Close up 100%

And a split second later....

So, was this you in Shrewsbury today with an DSLR?

I return the sentiment and hope it rains on you too?

What a random, absurd and terrible thing to say!

I think the comment was refering to the sun flares in the photos..........

Its a fair comment as they spoit the photos.

He looks a rum 'un!! :D

Oh yes and what a strange thing to do

Perhaps he's starting his own wedding photography business and wanted some free tips on what works

love random's in photos!!!

but have to agree the light looks a bit too harsh, I wouldn't have said it was amazing. No need for the below the belt comment above though

I think u8myufo was making the point, albeit in a roundabout way, that the photos are ruined by the flare and strong sun?

I'm sure he could have put it more clearly, however, I would have thought looking at the mystery photographers position relative to the available light that he would have probably got a very good shot of a young couple kissing in the park, I'd love to see that shot and see how he did to be honest.

I shoot into any light source on purpose, lol

I think people forgot they were not in the critique section  and just felt like having a bash at someone who is happy to go outside of the normal. I'm with you, there is a time to go for shots like this to create something different and can see from your site/blog that you know how to take 'normal' shots too. Don't let people get you down (I'm guessing by the lol they didn't but just wanted to be sure!).

Fair point.

I'm all for this type of shot, ie backlighting etc so I can see what the OP was trying to achieve.

LMFAO - was going to say at least the sun is behind the perv lol

I hope the mystery photographer isn't on the forum, because if he is, he's probably not going to be for much longer with comments like this.

agreed, it's not really nice to be calling someone a perv who can't defend themselves and all they have done is take a photo - it's not helping with some of the misconceptions about photographers

It's crazy isn't it Alastair, we complain when photographers don't get treated well when taking photos in public places then we see a photographer taking photos in public and label him a perv??!!

yes the misconceptions of people with cameras hiding in bushes taking pics of couples kissing

TBF it was said tongue in cheek

well thats one way to see it, another way would be a photographer taking a candid whilst trying to stay out of the way of the main photographer

:plusone: It's probably a local photographer who spotted you shooting and thought he'd get a few as well, he might possibily have thought the couple were famous if you looked like you were "papping" them as well.

He must be one of them soul stealer or one of those paps, have him shot at dawn.

Or he could be just a photographer, out on a nice day taking some photos :)

You know sometimes I despair, I really do. Can we please keep this thread as light hearted as I am sure Raymond intended. He is not having a go at the photographer, the pictures are not for critique and the guy is not exactly hiding in the bushes for goodness sake. :bonk:

it is lighthearted - I'm certainly not actually calling the guy a perv.

however you can't really expect people on a photography forum not to make comment about pics though

God, don't start arguing in this thread too, they'll just close it and before long there'll be like 1 open thread on the whole forum.

Getting the best angle for the light? Staying out of the way of the other photographer? Quite polite manners I thought, plus grabbing the opportunity.

Anyway - togs photo. Not level, image too dark to make out the camera :D

I know you weren't, for what its worth, I took your original comment as tongue in cheek, the follow up about 'hiding in bushes was the unnecessary one imo and as for comments on pics, yes, agreed, but not harsh critique in this section. I am sure Raymond will post the pics post editing in the feedback section if he wants it ;)

So, to get back on track, we can narrow down the possibilities, what camera is that?

Exposure is all wrong Yvonne, harsh lighting, too dark to tell.....:D

thats 2 people who have ignored Yv's request about keeping this light hearted

gripped nikon - so clearly a werido lol

TBF the TOG is in the bushes

It's people like you who give toggers a bad rep, what's he doing wrong

"People like me who give photographers a bad rep". Good Lord calm down, I am as aware as anyone on here that we get a bad rep from members of the security services and members of the public who have nothing better to do than hassle us. However this is not a public forum its a photography forum and any togs reading these posts know about and can see the humour and the absurdities of public opinion.
FYI, I had just not long read that Daily Mail article and saw a similarity in the 1st photo of the article with the hat and sunglasses and saw an amusing juxtaposition. You think I was trying to say something else ?
"Whats he doing wrong"? Absolutely nothing nor did I say he was it wasn't about the photographer it was about the similarity between the 2 photos. It was other posts that alluded to any pervy wrong doing on the togs part. Re read the posts and get off my case. Jeez :cuckoo: and I will thank you not presume the type of person I am or my character.

Who started all this off

I would guess he is on another forum posting photos of a chap taking pictures into the light and commenting that as far as he is concerned they would have looked far better taken with the autumn sun behind the snapper :-)
