Who has bought a Black Friday Deal?

I was looking at a kettle it Currys last night reduced from £69.95 to £34.95. Then decided to google it and found it in a few other shops for £29.95. I think there are very few real bargains to be had these days on "Black Friday, Boxing Day Bonanza's" etc. Most items being sold at bargain prices have usually been on sale at an inflated price somewhere so they can advertise them at vastly reduced prices.

I was about to buy my 55inch telly from JL as it went down another £30 but it is now OOS...oh well

Load of bunkum these Black Friday deals. Sure if you spend 3 hours searching the earth you may get a deal, but nothing like what you would hope for.

The thing is, it's pre Christmas so every one is gearing up for a huge rise in sales. Plus as mentioned, everyone is generally knocking down their previously inflated prices.

Post Christmas, sellers have tons of stock left over that they need to shift, and money is tight. You are much more likely to get a better deal after Christmas.

I know when I'll be sitting down looking for a true bargain!

There are some genuine deals, but yes they do take some sniffing out.

or, look out for tips on a nice forum that is related to the item you want; i bought a nice guitar this morning, for about half price!

Nope and I have no intention of looking, if I need something I'll buy it irregardless of sale etc, but I, not going to go looking just to spend money

I've only ever used it to buy things I might've considered but couldn't justify on grounds of cost, or things I would have bought ordinarily anyway. As others have pointed out, the prices were raised in anticipation of black friday. Worse, I've seen things on sale that were cheaper than prior to Black Friday. Some protein bars were priced at £23 "normal price" and reduced down to £11. But I bought them earlier in the year for £9.

Checked my Wishlists for any price reductions, nothing showing. If it wasn't something I already wanted it's not really a bargain.

Photography wise.. I'll wait for the downstream effects on used prices.

There are some good deals out there, only thing that I have ordered is mars and snickers protein bars :-)

Irrespective, or regardless?
Can't make up words, fella. :D

Me got these boots half price, absolute bargain IMG_1480097110.776165.jpg

I bought a couple of bits from Wex that I didn't need to enter a competition I won't win for a Sony A7 R!

That you didn't want?

Got a pair of Chromecast dongles which came to £40, was £30 each. One for the living room's big telly and one for my elderly mother's bedroom TV so that I could "cast" Johnny Mathis youtube videos from my PC for my elderly mother to watch.

Yes I bought a new xt1 with the 18-55 for a song.

I need a laptop for the mrs if anyone has seen any good offers?

Black Friday arrived on my inbox on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday....... Lots of interesting stuff but nothing I need.

I saw the (Park?) had the EF 70-300 DO IS down to £499 (now £799) which was half what the others were selling it at. Doesn't strike me as a first choice buy but a great price for anyone who wanted one.

I must be boring.... apart from the EOS M5 I cannot think of anything I actually want. Needs? Nowt, Desires? Some good weather!

Actually I can, that particular one is actually in the dictionary although its status is questionable because of its double negative status...but I can make up any word I want like bumble****, ****puffin or ****womble...hey if they get used enough they might even get added to the OED that's the wonderful thing about the evolution of language :p

New GFX card that I needed because my old card couldn't deliver the goods for the new monitor (not on sale) that I didn't need.

Ketter garden storage, Samsung tablet, car detailing supplies and some solar led lights. All of which I had planned to buy at some point so great savings.

I checked what wanted but it was to new so no offers. I will wait

Bought a portable beauty dish from Lencarta, saved £15 :D
I'd be interested to know what you think of it. I've got two and think they're quite marvelous but I don't have much experience in lighting stuff.

Anyway, what did I buy? A couple of reflectors and grids, also from Lencarta. I was going to get them anyway and as they were kindly offering 15% off I thought it only polite. :-)

I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'll do a test against my sold BD (though that's silver and smaller)

I bought a SD Card off Amazon Warehouse as they were doing 20% off, so it was a few quid cheaper than normal. And I'm forever losing them so good to stock up!

The missus and I are contemplating a trip to Venice and BA are doing 2 night breaks for £99 so we may yet book one before Monday when the offer runs out.
