Yes
I recently decided I want and can afford a new camera, seeing as my 20D is basically pre-historic now. The camera which I decided is best for me and my budget is the 7D!

I ALMOST bought one yesterday in the classifieds but there was problems with the seller not wanting me to pay by PayPal despite me paying the 3.6% fee. Since then, I've been refreshing the classifieds forum about 80 times an hour waiting for another 7D to come up! :bonk:

Who else is REAAAALLLLYY impatient when it comes to buying new stuff? :p

Me but i'm sure that your time will come and soon enough. Buy wisely not quickly.

Unfortunately yes; especially when it comes to shiny electronics and gadgets!

Although with my latest camera I slowed down a bit, did some research and waited for a good price. You'll enjoy the purchase more if you take your time about it!

Yeah, I've even found myself looking at prices to buy one new :gag:

I don't think I'll ever bring myself to do that though, it's basically wasting money!

Me. So much so I always press the "buy it now" option on ebay and don't even look at the auctions.

If I do dare to look at the auctions, I sort it by ones ending soonest and don't tend to look past the ones with more than an hour to go...

I have a camera in mind that I've got my fingers crossed for someone putting in the classifieds on the 15th of this month (payday!)

I saw that For sale thread Josh as I was going to make an offer but you beat me to it!....there was another 7d for sale so went for that.
I'm sure another will crop up soon, some things are not meant to be and I guess that transaction was one of them, for whatever reason.
Have you put up a wanted ad as some members ponder about selling but go for it when a wanted ad appears

Haha... me too. Then I procrastinate for so long, I miss all the best offers! :suspect:

I'm not in the least impatient, I just want it NOW!!!

Good idea, I'll post there now!

I think some things are more expensive when it's an auction. People just end up fighting and forget they could buy it for cheaper with just a click of their mouse

I just want to upgrade NOOOOWWWWW! :bonk:

You're right, you're not impatient! I want it yesterday :D

Very true! Ebay in general is quite expensive in terms of gear though. That's why I like the classifieds here.. you're less likely to get ripped off, lied to about gear condition and I just have more trust here :geek:

I can umm and arr about a new purchase for weeks but when i've decided I must have it straight away.

I'm a nightmare

They barely ever seem to mention the shutter count on eBay either which is a pain!

Me I just snapped up a bargain....potentially! Though last time I did that thinking I'd nabbed a D70 for £40 it turned out to be an F70!

I'd say have a look at MPB - I nearly pressed the button on a 7D, but ive started thinking about a 70 instead

not if you pay correct customs duties you can't - 679 isn't a bad price second hand for something the retails at about a grand new

There's no mention of that on their website  - I just presumed they have a UK base too?

I almost got one for £560 on here but the seller wasn't happy with me paying by regular paypal after having problems with BT :shake:

Check it out in the suppliers forum - they are a grey importer, and in some cases have been found misdeclaring value - ( I can't be arse to argue right and wrongs of that - all i'll say is that its not a fair comparison to compare a uk dealer with a grey importer)

check out horneys thread on his experience buying a 60D from them (in short for it got impounded by customs , then after some terrible customer service he filed a paypal dispute, got a refund from paypal and bough a second user one from mpb instead)

Oh, that really does seem like a pain! I don't want to buy new anyway, I'm gonna try and sit on my hands and wait for another one to come up on here! :)

If it makes you feel any better Josh.............

..... Mines being posted tomorrow :exit:

camera jungle , T4, Camtech, mifsuds, ffordes, and LCE are also other possibilities for seconf hand

Oh lord, there's one on eBay with 20 minutes left that's only at £420 so far! He doesn't know how to find the shutter count though!

I might make a cheeky bid - unless he's had it wrapped in cotton wool, it doesn't look like a body with a shutter count of 300,000 or something ridiculous!

Thanks for the tip....:D

Bahhh, I don't know if I dare go for it or not!

What if the shutter count is like 150,000?!

the shutter is good for an average 250k , and its not that expensive to get replaced anyway

I missed out anyway, it ended up going for £540

I put my maximum bid as £510 - I kinda want to know the shutter count unless I'm getting a bargain :p

I know where you are coming from with the shutter count but general condition is more important ie has it been looked after
It's not often that a shutter fails on a camera ive never had it happen:)
