Dont want to be ironing this thing all the time what the best method to get rid of the creases, is it a matter of simply over-exposing the background by upping the power?

Overpowering is certainly one way, although you do run the risk of flaring if it's too much. Another option is to sweep over the backdrop with a dodge tool (set to highlights). Can be a bit of a pain though if your subject is wearing light colours.

Personally I'd get the subject as far from the backdrop as you can and shoot the sheet a stop or so over your other lights. Easier for headshots and half lengths as full lengths will require you to balance the light over a larger area.

Wash the background, don't tumble dry it, just hang it up wet, clamp it to the sides of the support and tape it to the floor under tension, there won't then be any creases.

Alternatively, you can spray it with a plant sprayer - but hanging it up wet works better.
