White fringing around Pics???

I find that on some pics i get a white fringing around edges on pics, anyone had this prob before and how do you fix it??

Example of white fringing around edge of stones.

can you upload a larger pic - very hard to see the problem at that size.
 
Are you using the highlight recovery slider? I've found this to be the main culprit in the past.
 
looks like jpeg artifacts - are you using a lot of processing/sharpening?
 
II've just checked the raw file and its fine, so its defo down to my pp skills, as you can see i lack in this area lol, is it due to over sharpening/fill light slider as mentioned?

Thanks for the reply's guy, i will start checking my images more often when pp'ing lol, i actually got a book from the library yesturday on photoshop, will defo be reading shortly. thanks again
