white background

have tried to get it all white, but still got marks left

Looks to me as though you've used the on camera flash for this shot. Making an all white background may make things look a bit odd. Try adding just a small amount of density to the background, it may make it look better.

You don't say what Image eding software you have as that may limit you options. If you have the odd spot on the background use the clone tool to remove it.

If you have Photoshop or Elements, you may find one of the many books on the market may help you improve your retouching skills. It's not rocket science but does take practice

Even on a white background you need shadows or he will always be floating around.

looks like the boy has been "pasted" onto a white background. doesnt look real.
