Yes
I have found that when i'm out with the camera I have it in my hand more than round my neck, and having the neck strap wrapped around my hand isn't doing it much good.

I have found about half a dozen wrist straps on the net, but was just wondering what experience people have had with wrist straps and if they have any recommendations.

Its to go on a Nikon D40x by the way!

Thanks

Paul.

EDIT: Sorry, meant to post this in Cameras, Lenses and Accessories forum!

More of a handstrap - but I use one of these on my Canon and it's great. I'm sure Nikon do something very similar.

... There is also a very nice looking Optech version HERE ... ;) ... might even get one of these myself ... if I can find a Green one ...

HTH ... :D

Whoa -- the Optec is expensive! Looks a nice bit of gear though.

 great straps - they really reduce the weight very effectively. I reckon Nikon should do you a Limited Edition green camera

 ... and stupidly I would pay for it ... :embarrassed: ... as per the watch/car/bag/etc.,/etc., ad infinitum ...

Thatrs a silly price for the Nikon one. I just use one of my dads old ones off his Pentax. Its litterally just a little loop strap that goes round the wrist. Does exactly ehat I want. Could maybe due with being a tiny bit heavier duty as im not sure how much weight it would hold if I dropped the camera with a big lens attached.

I use the Nikon one which is far more secure on my wrist than the Canon one.

If I was going to spend that much, I would have headed over here instead Mr Venomator...

With the current rate of exchange I could get a leather handstrap for my DSLR and and Arca Swiss QR adaptor plate for £45 posted. Plus a little extra if I get stung for taxes. Still cheaper than that other thing! :)
