Which way to go, setting-up an in-house studio?

Yes, there are definately situations where a very expensive collection of SB-900s will do the job better than a portable studio flash system, as John says.

It's really a horses for course thing though. People who need high speed sync are likely to go this route and use the same equipment even when it isn't needed or ideal, which makes sense simply because they have it and are used to it.

Batteries,

Did so much reading on batteries that I feel fully charged myself, now :p

Well, as Darren (aka, cowasaki) suggested, the eneloop seem to get very good ratings, even at lower NiMH capacity.

So, I went hunting for these while my Energizer Alkalines stayed in their case. Took me a while, but then I stumbled upon a place that stocks them (Sanyo eneloop).

The thing is, I can't have batteries shipped to Saudi, for some odd reason, the postal service will not ship batteries to this part of the world (security issue :suspect:, or heat , or both ?)

Anyway, bought myself a good stack (12) of them :p and a charger, charges 4 at a time; wish I was able to find one charger that would charge the 12 at the same time (ah well, another thing to hunt for).

So, what's left now, is for me to start playing and to place an order on the little bit of accessories I want to get for this flash. This SB-900 is proving to be more cumbersome & expensive than I anticipated, no wonder I gave-up on flash a long time ago.

Going to take my new toys out tomorrow to a lost land of Dinosaurs, you lot think I'm kidding. Wait and see ;)
