Yes
I've just had my acceptance through from Alamy. Hooray!

Now i have to manage my images so they can be made available for sale. I am unsure which kind of licencing i should go for. My gut instinct says 'licenced' as this will keep some exclusivity of the imges and if they are used in a big campaign i will get more money for it than if i go royalty free- BUT i don't want to cut off any potential buyers and thus lose sales.

Any advice?

'licenced' all the way.

It depends on the image IMO.

If you have a picture of, say a lollipop, and you search on Alamy, and there are 100 other photos on there very similar to yours, all licensed, then go royalty free.

Licensing requirements aside (IE logos, model/property releases etc), then it depends how exclusive your image is, and how likely it is to sell IMO.

unexclusive, Sorry to be so flippant in my first response.
Take for example, a shot that is used by a newspaper or for editorial use, that news story may continue for weeks in not years and every time the image is used you get paid for it.
Marcel has a good and valid point about the image type.
If you are contacted by a buyer who wants exclusive rights then you can go on holiday for 6-12 months.
It's probably me just getting older and grumpier as I see all these microstock agencies and the likes of getty and alamy now lowering fees etc.

Yeah I know what you mean. I haven't made any money yet, but I can see the hugely negative impact that microstock agencies have on the industry :(

I did upload two shots to a microstock agency, sold one twice, and it hasn't even made me a quid yet...lol
Luckily they were old low res shots, and I am uploading no more....

Licensed for me too and everyone else who I know.
