Budget? Head preference?

do some research on Manfrotto and Giottos .......:D

[Still up Richard..?]

For a long lens the best head to go with is Gimbal head Clicky Linky Thats what I use for bird/nature Photography also good for sport

I'm a Benbo fan.

After years of frustration with Manfrotto I don't regret for a single second giving it way and getting a Benbo as it's able to get into positions that the Manfrotto found impossible and it's more stable too.

Not everyone likes them but mine has the additional centre column bracket and I have no handling problems at all. It feels like it's built to last too and feels much tougher than the much more expensive Manfrotto.

Thanks all for the advice!!

I am mainly in to wildlife photography so the Gimbal head looks like the one for me but can it also be used for landscapes and long exposures?

Budget was about £120 tops but I can see this is not enough if I want a Gimbal head....

Any suggestions that would suit my needs for that budget? then maybe a Gimbal for my birthday...... ;-)

cheers!!

I use a Giottos mtl 9271b leg set, superb on the height, I also use a giottos vh6011 head, which is a great head, I'm not sure how well suited the head would be with your combo, I use it for birding with a kowa tsn 824 scope.
