hi all, i'm planning on spending perhaps £200ish to get myself sorted with a good quality lasting tripod, as my redsnapper isn't quite up to stuff. I've used manfrotto before and really like them but i'm open to suggestions. I'm not a massive fan of the twist lock legs to be honest though..

also, my black rapid strap fits on the tripod mount bit of the camera, so at the moment i have to take my strap off every time i put the camera on the tripod, which is a bit of a pain. I heard there are certain heads / plates that you can get which get around this issue.

any ideas? Thanks

FastnR-T1 and Manfrotto QR-2 quick release plate. £15 for the FastnR-T1 and your Manfrotto QR2 (i.e. anything with RC2 at the end) head of choice to go on whichever tripod you decide on.

thanks guys, those seem like good options. I might head down to calumet - they should have a lot of choice, right?

Manfrotto 190CXPro4 is £220 with a free head if you buy just now. It folds up smallish & is light as its carbonfiber.

I just use the Manfrotto head, have two of them, and with adapter screws I can use on any tripod, monopod, gorillapod.
