Which tele Nikon MF for my X-Pro1?

I have the X-Pro1 and a Nikon adapter that I use with my Tamron macro lens. I would like to take photos of the birds in the garden but there are no tele lenses for the Fuji. As I have the adapter I thought it would be a good idea to get a Nikon lens with aperture ring and manual focus on a tripod? The alternative would be to get either a cheap body and half decent lens or I could get a Panasonic TZ40 for free when they come out.

So....what would be a good but reasonable tele zoom (up to about 200mm) ? Budget about £300ish.

If you can find one in budget, the 80-200 2.8 leaps out as being an obvious choice.
 
Might be worth hanging on a few months as fuji are bringing out a 55-200 this year. If its as good as the 18-55 is supposed to be it'll be about £500 but amazing!
 
i just picked up a 55-200 4-5.6 kit lens off fleabay for peanuts. Lovely sharp lens, small and light.
 
Cheers guy's. 80-200 looks a good bet and is affordable. I'll keep my eye's out for one of those I think, unless another option shows itself.

They're very good. Do your homework on the different versions though. There are at least two, maybe three. I think all of them are considered excellent though.
 
here you go for different versions, i looked into them a while back and i think the biggest difference was focus speed (anybody with any actual experience can correct me there), if you're manually focusing i wouldn't worry about it!

Yeah its the g but the adaptor has an aperture ring which I'm hoping will do the job, should be delivered today so will find out.

The 55-200mm Fuji is supposed to be out april/may time, F3.5-4.8 with OIS, If its as good optically as the rest of the range it will be a killer.
