Which storage device to use for a wedding?

I have been talked into doing a wedding (next week) for friends, and would like to know which storage device to use - disc or memory stick. They don't want prints or an album which is OK by me, because I can point them in the right direction.
I always assumed disc, but are they now a bit old fashioned?

Yes, CDs and DVDs are not a good idea, especially as countless devices no longer have CD/DVD drives.

Memory sticks are as cheap as chips, so just use one of those. You could also use a service like Flickr to upload the images to and send them a link. They could easily share the photos (perhaps watermarked and/or at a low resolution) with their friends.

In truth there are loads of ways to do this, another one would be to forget physical devices completely and just use something like Dropbox to provide the photos.
 
Cheers guys, I think I will save to a couple of memory sticks and external hard disc when edited, and then post the edited shots on Flickr with a password if they so wish, although they have said that I can use the shots for any portfolio if I wish. Who knows, this may lead to something or nothing, just have to keep my nerves in check on the day. We have a pre wedding shoot at the venue tomorrow.
 
Don't do the pre wedding shoot at the same venue, go for a look round the venue if you want then go somewhere else for the shoot. You don't want to end up with the same shots from both and if you're new to it that could easily happen.

And my vote goes for memory stick rather than DVD

Thanks for the advice Craig. They really want some shots taken in "civvies" before the event. The church is really old and is set in lovely countryside, so I have quite a lot of angles and backdrops to choose from. It is also very difficult to get into the church to check lighting and all that, because it is only unlocked when the owners are present (it is a restored church which specialises in civil partnerships), so tomorrow will be an ideal opportunity to see which body/lens combinations I will be using. The bride to be keeps her horse in a nearby field, so I may suggest that we take the shots there to avoid duplication.
