Please be patient but I am new to off camera flashes.
I am using the 7d. I want to use 2 speedlites mounted on a stand with an umbrella and possibly a 3rd speedlite with umbrella for a fill.
How can I trigger all of these at the same time.
The off camera flashes will probably be the Yongnuo 560-II and I would like to keep my 580 ex on the camera too, even if its not active.
I was thinking of the Yongnuo YN-622C Wireless TTL Flash Trigger - one on my camera and one on each of the umbrella stands.
My question is - Is this the right equipment for what I want to do?
and how should I mount the two speedlites together so they trigger at the same time. I have seen a double hot shoe mount for the stand. Should I put a Yongnuo transmitter in the hot shoe and then the speedlite on top of it?
How should they be configured to fire? Slave?
Thanks for your help

If your using Canon speedlights then you don't need a speedlite transmitter because the 7D has one built in.

True, but with the 622c's (which are excellent by the way) you don't need a pre-flash or line of sight.

Tonnes of info here.

YN 622 still needs a pre-flash for auto-TTL exposure measurement, even if the control and firing signals are sent by radio.

As said, the OP's 7D pop-up can act as a master remote controller, as can the 580EX, though radio has some key benefits and at the price of the YN 622 that's an attractive choice.

The best way to have a 2-flash head is to use two 622s. However, if the flashes are used with manual power level settings, you can use one 622 and connect the second flash by PC-sync cable.

BTW - the on-camera 622 can have the 580EX on top. The 622 acts as Master, and all the remote 622s are slaves. BUT, the flashes mounted on them should be in normal stand-alone mode, not Slave mode.
