Which Speedlight?

I want to try some portrait photography with my grandchildren and a workmates newish baby.
With so many on the market, which speedlight would you suggest for some basic entry level photos.

My advice would be to take a look at the Yongnuo range, there's a flash unit for most tastes and wallet size there.
Do you want manual or TTL? Off camera or on?
A YN467 or the more expensive YN565EX

On camera to begin with and if I`m happy with the results after a few shoots I`d be happy to branch out a bit. I love my wildlife photography but I`m just trying a few other topics.

+1. I use a Mk2 with my Nikon D3000 & have been very happy with it.
