Hello Folks

1st post, I am new to digital SLR photography I have recently purchased a nikon d80 and would like to purchase photoshop for RAW pictures
which photoshop should I purchase?

thanks

Paul

thanks I may have to bite the bullet and pay £ 500 for cs3
its annoying that students can buy it for £165:thumbs:

Book yourself onto an O.U. course and then you can buy it at student rates also :)

ok thanks for the replys

If you are just starting and want to go down the Photoshop route just buy Elements 5, CS3 will probably be too much if you are not used to image editing and you I doubt you would use most of it's features. Elements 5 will have everything you need and it is a lot cheaper.

Lightroom is a good starting point if you must spend money with Adobe as this will help you start a good workflow. Otherwise there is Aperture but probably best to try as many free programs at first until you know what it is you want from such programs.

I'd certainly consider Nikons Capture NX.

:agree: - It will work seamlessly with your D80 - You can download a free 30 day trial first & then if it is to your liking get hold of Kerso (via PM) as he sells it a cheap as a budgie!
Paul ;)
