Yes
Hi. I'm fancying a Sigma 2.8 lens for my D80:D 24-60 or 28-70mm, both ex DG, whatever that means. They cost virtually the same, £200/207 on warehouseexpress. I currently have the stock 18-135mm and the 70-300vr

So any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would, myself, go for the 24-60 (I already have it, but I'm just telling you the decision I made :p)

You are 4mm wider on the 24-60, and 10mm longer on the 28-70, but its easier to get closer, but not always easier to get further back.

Have you thought about the Sigma 24-70? Its got the best bits of both, with macro, for only about £20 more.

:amstupid: So being a numpty...whats the difference between the Macro and the normal lens? I know the Macro will be better for close up things, but does this effect normal photos?

I have the 24-70mm Sigma and i love it most of my pics in the critique sections are taken with it. Pics can be a lil soft at 2.8 at times, but i tend to keep it off 24mm and F.28

I recently purchased a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 HSM, which is their version of Nikon's 17-55 f2.8.

28 will be too wide......or at least it would be for me....

i have 24 and i often want just that little extra width..
