Hi guys/gals,

As the title says really, I'm in the market for a shoulder strap to help carry on 70D about - my right shoulder is quite mushed & I have some crushed vertebrate in my neck so need something that will distribute the weight across my torso.

I've being loooking and reading on the net but there's just so many !

Any help of one's that people use and found good be would a great help thank u :)

Cheers
Lisa

optech do good ones, utility sling
also thier harness might be good for you too
there 15 25quid price range I think

I think any of the sling type straps would suit your purpose Lisa.
There are quite a few available to suit different budgets. I have a sun sniper one which is cheaper than the black rapid. Both I believe are very similar.

Optech user here, got mine from the well known auction site for about £8 if I remember correct. Almost as new condition too.

Another Optech user here too, they have a large range to choose from, plus lots of nice "add ons" too, and all really well priced, unlike the massively overpriced Black Rapid slings

I'm an OpTech user too. I have cervical spondylitis and suffer quite badly with neck pain. There is no way I could use the normal camera strap. I have also tried the Black Rapid for women, I found That awkward and it didn't distribute the weight. The Optech harness (elastic) is extremely comfortable no issues with it at all.

I'm a black rapid user and love it however I'm going to suggest something different. If your issues are all upper body I'd recommend looking at something like the Spider holster system, that way all the weight is off your body and distributed onto your hips

If money isn't an issue...
Check out the hold fast gear money maker strap. Simply awesome, discussed on the forum at length.

I use the SunSniper but really all the sling-straps seem very similar. They really do work through, I'd never go back to a normal strap.

You'll find that one or more of the recommended suppliers (OpTech for me!) make straps designed for the female form as well.

How they differ I'm not sure, but....

I have the carry speed can't remember the model but it's just the basic 1 which attaches straight to the tripod mount! I,ve had the black rapid and I prefer this strap..

Op/tech strap and sling user here, very comfy and lots of options. Attached loops to all my tripod plates as well for quick, secure and distribution weight :)

Optech strap - have been thinking of trying a black rapid strap.

Does the opTech straps use the threaded nut on the underside of the camera ?? as all the web pages and reviews I've just watched on you only seem to show the side loop attachment
Oh theres just too much choice :D

I really thank you all for your input - you guys/gals are awesome (y)

Loop system, through the camera lugs that hold the regular strap or attach a screw and loop through that (e.g. ebay : 141354263135). I'm always paranoid a screw would work loose and like the idea of two anchor points on the Op/tech connectors for added security and nothing to work loose. So two loops on the body, or in the case of a heavy lens one on the body and one on the lens to distribute the weight while carrying.

Another Op/Tech. Loads cheaper than Black Rapids but still works well and is sooooo much more comfy than a neck strap. Also by Op/Tech fastens to the same part that the neck strap would, not the bottom of the tripod plate like Black Rapids do meaning you can still have the camera over your neck/shoulder while attaching it to a tripod.

I've go the one in your link.

Up-strap. Tried them all and this fella is the best. Sticks so no shrugging, you don't look like you're heading to either a secret service or s&m party, and doesn't feel like like a slinky is holding your precious camera. Have to ship it from the States though; Domke make a close alternative.
