I am looking for a ring flash to work with several Canon cameras. Fortunately the lenses are mainly only one filter size 77mm. I am debating either the Nissin or Sigma any view on either. Cost is about the same, for both
I've got the Sigma Ring Flash, it looks like a ring flash but actually isn't, it consists of two small flashes that can be fired individually or together with a ratio of power between the two and has a guide number of 14. That's fine for macro work but it is of little use for anything else such as portrait work, which needs much more power and a proper ring configuration for decent images. I bought mine secondhand but the genuine Canon version isn't much more from the likes of MPB and might give better results overall, such items tend not to get much use. I have no knowledge of the Nissin version.
Hadn't considered the Yongnuo option. Not sure if it'll fit a 77mm filter mount, but as it will probably be used mainly on the 100mm macro which is 58mm it's not really a problem. Plus £80.00 from Amazon not a bad buy. Thanks for the responses
