Which printer should i buy?

Hello. I need a new printer as my Canon pixma iP8500 has just died.

I can't afford to go as high as the new pro 9000 range and never need to print bigger than A4.

The other Canon printers (i've found so far) seem to retail c.£100 does anyone have experience with them?

I mostly have small print runs for clients on 5x7 and my own work for uni.

Hope someone can advise on a med-cost printer!

HP Photosmart. Avoid an all-in-one scanner-plus-teasmade (unless you want one). You can get info on discontinued models at the HP site. If you buy one off eBay described as new, HP will honour the warranty.

I've got the canon 8500, but rarely use it to do any photographic images, I find that paper and ink costs for doing the printing myself is more expensive than sending it away and getting a printhouse do the printing for me.
It depends how much printing you do and whether you really need this facility
